Terran at 9 Months | Vermont, Family Portraits

Here we are, another blog post about another fantastic family! I feel as though my posts have all too often been introduced with the same phrase "I had the pleasure of meeting...." and well, it is so true. I have yet to photograph a family that I didn't want to be sure I kept in touch with because they were just plain awesome and today's post is no exception. Allison contacted me through a mutual friend that I did some photos for back in December. When I met Allison in March I could totally see how the two were able to make a connection, they are both awesome amazing ladies and they have the cutest kiddos right about the same age. Terran was right about nine months at the time we were able to meet up for some photos and he was just too much fun. Though a bit chilly we spent the morning outside (always ok by me, I love the fresh air!). I spent some time chatting with Mom while we hung out for a nice casual session. She explained to me about a baby blessing they had recently attended for a friend and it sounded really interesting (and like something I would totally want to photograph.... hint, hint to anyone that may be doing something along those lines.....). We swapped stories of life as mom's and stories as professionals in the medical world (she's in OT), and it reminded me that the world I left behind was not one that I didn't like, but just one that wasn't quite right for me. Yes, I do miss it. I'm always impressed by those that were made to be in that world though, and those that truly love it. Go Allison! Always impressed by people who manage to rock lives as professionals and amazing parents....... and she just ADORES her son beyond my abilities to describe it. Which is easy to do because he is way too cute and curious. I had a great time meeting, chatting, and photographing (and of course, playing peek-a-boo with Terran!) you both. Many thanks to another awesome family! Oh! We can't forget about Smiles, the intensely ferocious pup.... well, ok..... more like loud until you get out of your car kind of pup :) Hey, he looks like a dog I know pretty well, don't you think so Renee?

Autumn Family Portraits | Plymouth, NH

On a fairly gray morning in November I was able to meet a wonderful family and take their photos. Almost three years old (right around Thanksgiving), this little girl was on the go! We all use the saying "if I could bottle up that energy", but really. I would. There was a lot of love, a lot of running around, and some great outfits (Mom has excellent taste, I just love her attire!).

Freezing Family Photos | Danbury, NH

First snow of the year, right before Halloween! This photo session was given to one of my sister-in-law's co-workers for a birthday present so that she could get a few photos of the family together before her son headed back to Texas. Unfortunately, with some conflicting schedules we were still missing someone, but it was great to be able to get some shots of Pam and both kids before her son Journeyed back home.

Of course, I was still preparing for Halloween at home, but found this hiding in the woods while scoping out spots....

To start, I had the ladies bookend this super cute bench (because we were certain this old bench wouldn't hold all three, it is really for looks rather than function, but thankfully it held up. Had anyone sat in the middle section by themselves or with anyone else, it would have been a disaster. I know, I almost wore the bench as a skirt when standing on it at one point...... lol. Thankfully I did not destruct their property).

Then we moved right along and did a few more shots of just the people. They had a great sense of humor and were a ton of fun to work with.


Having an older brother myself, I can totally relate to this one.....

Then it was time for the animals......

And then this crazy guy came out to play! And wouldn't you know.... for the first time ever I had a goat try to eat my hair while I was looking through the viewfinder.

We were all freezing, but took advantage of the snow for one more group shot.

I had a blast joking around and laughing with this crew.
