"We heart art"

A little project with a lot of love.

My daughter and I decided that making heart shaped crayons were by far the best option for this year's homemade valentines. Together we went through the process of chopping, melting, cooling, popping, adhering, and writing out these valentines. I will admit, I may have over-melted the crayons..... I took them out of the oven as soon as the smell of almost burning crayons hit me - nauseating.

Like the super cute bokeh? I have a seriously dirty oven door......

Emma put a great deal of care into them. She really loves all of her friends. She is also the kind of person that wants to be friends with everyone, no matter what - she just loves to be a good, kind friend. I heart her :)

Last month I did my post entirely with a (beautiful) Nikon 50mm 1:1.4G lens. Just days ago I placed my order and am happily (however, impatiently) awaiting its arrival. This month I used the 50mm I already own (Nikon 50mm 1:1.8D). I went ahead and focused manually the entire time as that was the only option on the D5000 I originally purchased that particular lens for.
Through varying struggles I was happy to use it for one last assignment before handing it over to my sister-in law for her enjoyment. Have fun Renee! As you can see, it isn't too shabby :)

Thank you for viewing!
